DESCRIPTION:Hammond Castle Museum welcomes guests to tour the many rooms of the home and laboratory of John Hays Hammond Jr.\, renowned as one of the most prolific American inventors of the 20th century and famously known as the Father of Radio Control. \nThroughout the 2026 season guests can also enjoy a completely updated Invention Room\, showcasing exciting new perspectives on Hammond’s work as a scientist\, inventor and engineer\, as well as a brand-new set of rotating exhibits\, including “Inside the Faraday Cage: The Science of Things that Aren’t So” in the spring and summer and “Brave Too Much: The Legend of John Coffee Hays” in the fall and winter. We offer two options for daily admission: Guided and Self-Guided tours. \nGuided Tours:\nLed by a member of Hammond Castle Museum’s talented tours staff\, Guided Tours of the Museum last approximately 35-40 minutes and cover basic information about the history of the building and its inhabitants. Major areas covered by the tour staff include parts of the former Laboratory\, the vast Great Hall\, and the breathtaking Courtyard. \nAfter the guided portion of the tour\, visitors may explore the many smaller rooms and exhibit spaces in the former Hammond residence. \nSelf-Guided Tours:\nExperience Hammond Castle Museum at your own pace with our flexible arrival times for Self-Guided Tours! DESCRIPTION:The City of Woburn will continue its commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution on Saturday\, June 13\, with a full day of events held in coordination with the City’s annual Flag Day festivities. The schedule includes Revolutionary War reenactments\, a march from the Pocket Park to Woburn Common\, a flag raising\, music\, musket firing display\, a performance reading of the Declaration of Independence\, student banner recognition\, burial ground tours\, a special library exhibition\, and the Kiwanis Flag Day Festival and fireworks. \n10:30 a.m.\, 460 Main Street to Woburn Common: Period reenactors will present a brief performance about the morning of April 19\, 1775\, when the Woburn militia gathered at Fowle Tavern before marching to Lexington. DESCRIPTION:Hammond Castle Museum welcomes guests to tour the many rooms of the home and laboratory of John Hays Hammond Jr.\, renowned as one of the most prolific American inventors of the 20th century and famously known as the Father of Radio Control. \nThroughout the 2026 season guests can also enjoy a completely updated Invention Room\, showcasing exciting new perspectives on Hammond’s work as a scientist\, inventor and engineer\, as well as a brand-new set of rotating exhibits\, including “Inside the Faraday Cage: The Science of Things that Aren’t So” in the spring and summer and “Brave Too Much: The Legend of John Coffee Hays” in the fall and winter. We offer two options for daily admission: Guided and Self-Guided tours. \nGuided Tours:\nLed by a member of Hammond Castle Museum’s talented tours staff\, Guided Tours of the Museum last approximately 35-40 minutes and cover basic information about the history of the building and its inhabitants. Major areas covered by the tour staff include parts of the former Laboratory\, the vast Great Hall\, and the breathtaking Courtyard. \nAfter the guided portion of the tour\, visitors may explore the many smaller rooms and exhibit spaces in the former Hammond residence. \nSelf-Guided Tours:\nExperience Hammond Castle Museum at your own pace with our flexible arrival times for Self-Guided Tours! Your ticket grants you entry anytime within the Morning or Afternoon session times\, based upon your selection\, ensuring you can arrive stress-free and enjoy your visit to the fullest. \nMorning Session: 9:00 am – 11:45 am\nAfternoon Session: 11:45 am – 2:30 pm \nPlease note: the last entrance into the Museum is at 2:45 pm sharp. The Museum and Grounds close promptly at 3:30 pm. We recommend planning at least 60 minutes to explore the grounds and interior galleries of the Museum. \nThe Hammond Castle Museum is a historic landmark built in the late 1920s\, and as such is not handicapped accessible and presents challenges for visitors with mobility impairments\, as it features numerous stairs.

SUMMARY:A River Transformed Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Discover how the power of the Merrimack River was harnessed into textile production in the 19th century. This tour combines a walk along the riverwalk accompanied by a park ranger with a guided visit to the River Transformed Exhibit at the Suffolk Mill. \nJune 15-August 31\, 2025\nMonday and Tuesday at 2 p.m. \nVisitors should plan for a 75-minute tour\, all of which will be spent on your feet. Visitors can expect to walk as much as 1.5-miles on paved paths and are encouraged to bring water. This tour meets and ends at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum (115 John St.) \nThis tour is free.
