Join us for a star party with the North Shore Astronomy Club. Club members will bring telescopes and expertise to help us explore and view the dark sky from the Crane Beach parking lot. Bring your binoculars, scopes, starfinding apps, and curiosity. You may also want to bring: red light/head lamp, bug spray, water bottle, chair or blanket to sit on. This event is all ages, so bring the family!
Please arrive between 8-8:30pm – night sky viewing will begin at 8:30pm.
Here are some of the exciting things we may be able to see through the telescopes:
– Double star systems
– Quadruple and larger star systems
– Open clusters (collections of 100 to 1000 stars in our galaxy)
– Globular clusters (collections of 100’s of thousands of stars that orbit our galaxy)
– Nebula (exploded stars as well as star forming regions)
