Newburyport Art (NAA) presents Photography Show and Newburyport Photography Interest Group 2025 Winter Show, on view in the galleries. A joint reception and awards presentation will be held on Saturday, March 8th, from 4-6 PM, with awards presented by Max Schenk on behalf of awards jurist Cara Weston.

The Photography Show features over 80 photographs by local and regional photographers, with subject matter ranging from wildlife photography, to abstractions and landscapes. This show includes digital and film photography, including silver gelatin print, polaroid emulsion processes. This exhibition is on view in the Sargent and upstairs Hartson Galleries. In the Hills Gallery, the Photography Show and Newburyport Photography Interest Group 2025 Winter Show features 40 photographs by members of the Photography Interest Group (PhIG). Artists featured in this exhibition include; Thom Adorney, Barry Berman, Melissa Cox, Heidi Davis, Sam Davis, James Doucett, Sandra Emro, Karen S Fitzgerald, Karen Futral, Barbara Gaskin, Law Hamilton, Bill Ladas, Bonnie Lake, Roger Locniskar, Dawn McDonald, Skip Montello, Shlomo Nezer, Greg Nikas, Michael ODonnell, Will Putnam, Julie Sforza, Robert Sahakian, Judith Schneider and Georgie Vining.

Both shows have awards juried by photographer Cara Weston. Weston lives and works in the community of Carmel, California – a landscape that has inspired her parents, Cole Weston and Helen Prosser Weston, her uncle Brett Weston and grandfather Edward Weston – a family recognized for having many of the leading visionaries in modern photography. Cara’s photographs are heralds that sing the divine feminine, capturing the elegance and power of nature with ephemeral sublime characteristics. Cara’s body of work provides a balance to the long-dominating masculine eye that has been thought of as the only interpretation of the Weston vision.

The galleries are free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am–5:00pm and Sunday from 1:00pm–5:00pm. Newburyport Art is closed on Mondays. The ground-floor Hills Gallery has an accessible entrance. More information, as well as an online gallery is available at newburyportart.org. Founded in 1948, Newburyport Art is dedicated to promoting and exhibiting members’ work and to providing art education and access to the visual arts for the entire community.
