Join Hub Town Tours for a special celebration of Abigail Adams’s 1776 letter to John Adams, imploring the Continental Congress to include protections for women’s rights as they created a new nation. We will explore the captivating stories of Bostonians that followed in the footsteps of Revolutionary women like Abigail Adams and Phillis Wheatley, and assembled a Women’s Suffrage Movement that culminated with the ratification of the 19th amendment. This 2.5-hour walking tour begins in Boston’s Public Garden, and travels through the Back Bay neighborhood, visiting landmarks such as Copley Square, the Boston Public Library, and the Boston Women’s Memorial. Walk in the footsteps of prolific local activists that met Mrs. Adams’s challenge to “Remember the Ladies,” and gain new appreciation for Boston’s historic role in the advancement of women’s rights.
