DESCRIPTION:Newburyport Art (NAA) is proud to announce Coming Home: A Celebration of Creative Roots\, a multi-disciplinary exhibit that highlights artists who grew up in the Newburyport area\, and artists who moved to the area as adults – to share how the city influenced their creative practice. This is the second year that Newburyport Art has held this exhibit. Coming Home is curated by Artist and Executive Director\, Belle Carver Struck. \nThis exhibit features over 80 works by artists who have a connection to the Newburyport area. Artwork includes oil painting\, acrylic\, pastel\, watercolor\, mixed media\, collage and pastel. Coming Home will be on view from Wednesday\, August 22nd – Saturday\, August 22nd\, with a free\, opening reception on Sunday\, July 26th from 4-6pm.\nAdditionally\, Newburyport Art will hold a ticketed panel discussion on Monday\, July 27th from 6-8pm\, moderated by local storyteller\, actor and educator Paul Wann. DESCRIPTION:Newburyport Art (NAA) presents three new shows opening in the month of May! \nSoft Structures is a group exhibition that explores fibers and fibrous material as process and metaphor. This exhibit features over 80 artworks in a variety of media including drawing\, painting\, sculpture\, weaving\, embroidery\, quilting\, collage\, mixed media and more.\nThis exhibit is on view in the first-floor Sargent Gallery and second-floor Hartson Gallery. \nFOLIA is a collaborative exhibition featuring works by Amesbury artists Amy Vander Els & Heather Karp. This exhibit explores the quiet beauty and joyful rhythm of leaves and the symbolic meaning behind many that speaks of perseverance\, resilience and hope. Thirty-six artworks are displayed amongst spring greenery in the first-floor Hills Gallery. Amy and Heather will give a free artist talk on Thursday\, May 21st from 6:00-7:00pm\, concluding with Q&A. \nThe 11th Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden Exhibition debuted on May 1st\, and will remain on view year-round until April 2027. At nearly 3\,000 square feet\, the Range Lights Sculpture Garden resides behind the historic NAA and is seen and visited by hundreds of people every week. This year’s exhibition features 16 pieces by 10 local and regional artists. The participating artists include; Jeffrey Briggs\, Lindley Briggs\, Sarah Burns and Mike Platt\, Alexis Guieb-Alimbuyuguen\, Andrew Henschel\, Mae Kenny\, Evan Ralph\, Michael Updike and Raynor Warner. \nA reception for FOLIA and Soft Structures will be held on Saturday\, May 2nd from 4-6pm\, with the 11th Annual Sculpture Exhibit reception beginning at 3:00pm\, including a Best in Show award at 3:30pm. This show is from Wednesday\, July 1st through Saturday\, July 18th. \nIn the Hills Gallery\, the Photography Interest Group (PhIG) 2026 Summer Show\, features the artwork from twenty-two PhIG members. This exhibition is displayed from Wednesday\, July 1st through Sunday\, July 26th. Subject matter includes street photography\, landscapes\, buildings\, florals\, portraits\, cities and nature. There are also unframed bin work pieces for sale.\nAn opening reception for both shows is Friday\, July 3rd from 5-7pm and free to the public. \nIn collaboration with The Screening Room of Newburyport\, there will be a screening presentation of the documentary\, UNDERLAND on Monday\, July 6th at 7pm. This exhibit features over 80 artworks in a variety of media including drawing\, painting\, sculpture\, weaving\, embroidery\, quilting\, collage\, mixed media and more.\nThis exhibit is on view in the first-floor Sargent Gallery and second-floor Hartson Gallery. \nFOLIA is a collaborative exhibition featuring works by Amesbury artists Amy Vander Els & Heather Karp. This exhibit explores the quiet beauty and joyful rhythm of leaves and the symbolic meaning behind many that speaks of perseverance\, resilience and hope. Thirty-six artworks are displayed amongst spring greenery in the first-floor Hills Gallery. Amy and Heather will give a free artist talk on Thursday\, May 21st from 6:00-7:00pm\, concluding with Q&A. \nThe 11th Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden Exhibition debuted on May 1st\, and will remain on view year-round until April 2027. At nearly 3\,000 square feet\, the Range Lights Sculpture Garden resides behind the historic NAA and is seen and visited by hundreds of people every week. This year’s exhibition features 16 pieces by 10 local and regional artists. DESCRIPTION:Newburyport Art (NAA) presents three new shows opening in the month of May! \nSoft Structures is a group exhibition that explores fibers and fibrous material as process and metaphor. This exhibit features over 80 artworks in a variety of media including drawing\, painting\, sculpture\, weaving\, embroidery\, quilting\, collage\, mixed media and more.\nThis exhibit is on view in the first-floor Sargent Gallery and second-floor Hartson Gallery. \nFOLIA is a collaborative exhibition featuring works by Amesbury artists Amy Vander Els & Heather Karp. This exhibit explores the quiet beauty and joyful rhythm of leaves and the symbolic meaning behind many that speaks of perseverance\, resilience and hope. Thirty-six artworks are displayed amongst spring greenery in the first-floor Hills Gallery. Amy and Heather will give a free artist talk on Thursday\, May 21st from 6:00-7:00pm\, concluding with Q&A. \nThe 11th Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden Exhibition debuted on May 1st\, and will remain on view year-round until April 2027. At nearly 3\,000 square feet\, the Range Lights Sculpture Garden resides behind the historic NAA and is seen and visited by hundreds of people every week. This year’s exhibition features 16 pieces by 10 local and regional artists. The participating artists include; Jeffrey Briggs\, Lindley Briggs\, Sarah Burns and Mike Platt\, Alexis Guieb-Alimbuyuguen\, Andrew Henschel\, Mae Kenny\, Evan Ralph\, Michael Updike and Raynor Warner. \nA reception for FOLIA and Soft Structures will be held on Saturday\, May 2nd from 4-6pm\, with the 11th Annual Sculpture Exhibit reception beginning at 3:00pm\, including a Best in Show award at 3:30pm. The receptions are free and open to the public\, and visitors participating in the May 2nd Newburyport Artwalk are encouraged to stop by. \nNew Hours: Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00am–5:00pm. The gallery is handicap accessible. SUMMARY:Newburyport Art presents Coming Home: A Collection of Creative Roots
DESCRIPTION:Newburyport Art (NAA) is proud to announce Coming Home: A Celebration of Creative Roots\, a multi-disciplinary exhibit that highlights artists who grew up in the Newburyport area\, and artists who moved to the area as adults – to share how the city influenced their creative practice. This is the second year that Newburyport Art has held this exhibit. Coming Home is curated by Artist and Executive Director\, Belle Carver Struck. \nThis exhibit features over 80 works by artists who have a connection to the Newburyport area. Artwork includes oil painting\, acrylic\, pastel\, watercolor\, mixed media\, collage and pastel. Coming Home will be on view from Wednesday\, August 22nd – Saturday\, August 22nd\, with a free\, opening reception on Sunday\, July 26th from 4-6pm.\nAdditionally\, Newburyport Art will hold a ticketed panel discussion on Monday\, July 27th from 6-8pm\, moderated by local storyteller\, actor and educator Paul Wann. The panelists are AJ Smith\, Ariele Ebacher\, Dylan Metrano\, Julie Pike Edmond\, and Isabella Schwind. Tickets are available now\, $45 for Newburyport Art Members\, and $60 for non-members. Proceeds go to benefit the Newburyport Art Annual Fund.
