Hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life have traveled to the historic Plymouth Harbor and Waterfront to experience a bounty of authentic Americana. The celebration of Thanksgiving becomes history-brought-to-life as Pilgrims\, Native Americans\, Soldiers\, Patriots\, and Pioneers proudly climb out of the history books and onto the streets of Plymouth. More Parade Information Here. \nParade Schedule\nFriday\, Nov. 20 – 7pm – The Plymouth Philharmonic Concert at Memorial Hall. \nSaturday\, Nov. 21 – 9:30am-12pm: Parade begins at Plymouth Rock at 10am\, continuing around Water Street to Main Street to Court Street\, and ending at Benny’s Plaza at 179 Court Street. (Opening ceremonies start at 9:30am at the Pilgrim Memorial Park on Water St). \nRoad Closures – 7am-the end of the parade: Water St from Union St\, to the Rotary at Town Wharf.. SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Day in Plymouth
DESCRIPTION:10am – “Pilgrim Progress”\nReenactment of the Pilgrims’ Sabbath procession to worship.  Costumed participants representing survivors of the winter of 1621\, assemble to the beat of a drum\, proceed down North Street\, along Water Street past Plymouth Rock\, up Leyden Street to School Street where a short Pilgrim worship service is observed near the site of the original fort/meetinghouse.  Psalms sung are taken from The Book of Psalms by Henry Ainsworth\, used by the Pilgrims in Holland and in Plymouth.  Passages read by “Elder Brewster” are from Governor Bradford’s Of Plymouth Plantation or other sources. After the service\, the march continues through town on Main Street\, ending at the Mayflower Society House via North Street. \n12Noon – National Day of Mourning March and Ceremonies\nMassasoit Statue\, Cole’s Hill www.uaine.org\nSince 1970\, Native Americans and their supporters have marched to Plymouth’s Town Square and then gathered on Cole’s Hill at noon to observe a National Day of Mourning. Organized by United American Indians of New England (UAINE)\, the march has brought about revisions in the depiction of United States history and government as well as settler relationships with Native American peoples. A day of remembrance and spiritual connection\, the annual event is held to create a renewed appreciation for Native American culture\, and to protest the treatment of American Indians. \n9am-5pm – Plimoth Patuxet Museums – Historic Patuxet Homesite\, 17th-Century English Village\, Craft Center\, Mayflower II\, Plimoth Grist Mill – Check Here for more Information.
