SUMMARY:Time in a Bottle: Songs of the ’70s with Swearingen and Kelli (Plymouth)
DESCRIPTION:Time in a Bottle: Songs of the ’70s celebrates the legendary artists who shaped a golden era of songwriting\, including Jim Croce\, Carole King\, John Denver\, James Taylor\, Peter Paul & Mary\, Simon & Garfunkel\, Stevie Nicks\, Bonnie Raitt\, Neil Young and more. Led by Nashville-based duo Swearingen & Kelli (AJ Swearingen and Jayne Kelli) with Bethlehem tenor\, Jonathan Beedle\, it’s the kind of show that turns a theater into a living room of old friends\, sharing music that has a soul. \nAs a duo\, Swearingen & Kelli have spent over a decade crafting harmony-rich Americana steeped in the soul of ’60s and ’70s songwriters. The two first met at a songwriters club in Florida\, became fast friends and bandmates\, eloped in Punta Cana\, and eventually made their way to Nashville\, where their musical partnership continues to evolve. \nTheir most recent album\, Build Myself Up From the Ground\, earned praise from The Bluegrass Situation\, Wide Open Country\, and Americana Highways\, which noted they sound “as good as John Prine with Bonnie Raitt on ‘Angel From Montgomery.’” They’ve shared stages with icons including Crystal Gayle\, Kenny Rogers\, Tom Rush\, and David Bromberg\, and have performed symphonic pops programs with orchestras across the U.S. and Canada. \nIn 2025\, Jayne launched a solo piano-driven project beginning with a dreamy ballad reimagining of “Sister Golden Hair” by America\, featuring AJ’s atmospheric vintage lap steel. She followed with the critically acclaimed indie-rock single “Only in the Dream\,” which premiered with Magnet Magazine and was praised by Amplify Music Magazine as “a stunning gem of a song… a contender for our favorite song of the year.” The release signals a more cinematic\, piano-centered direction while maintaining the lyrical depth and emotional resonance that define the duo’s work. Volume I is set to release in fall of 2026.

SUMMARY:Cantrip and Low Lily (Plymouth)
DESCRIPTION:The name Cantrip is an Old Scots word meaning a charm\, magic spell or piece of mischief and it aptly describes the unexpected twists and turns in their musical arrangements\, likewise the compelling potency of their musicianship. Swirling border pipes\, raging fiddle\, thunderous guitar and three rich voices blend to create a sound energetic enough to tear the roof off. After 20 years of touring\, Cantrip has found a character like no other. Echoes can be heard of trad music from the 1960s and 70s\, but the years have slowly infested their music with the sounds of funk\, metal\, bluegrass\, swing\, and even klezmer. Dan Houghton\, Jon Bews\, Alasdair White\, and Eric McDonald stir the elements in a witches’ cauldron\, slowly coalescing into chaotic order. \nLOW LILY – With a vocal and instrumental blend that has been dubbed “outstanding” and “meticulous”\, the members of Low Lily (Liz Simmons\, Flynn Cohen\, and special guest Elsie Gawler) come together to create a signature sound that has captivated audiences throughout the US\, UK\, and Canada. \nLow Lily is the colloquial name for the Trout Lily\, a wildflower that grows in the northeast and in regions further afield. Like its namesake\, Low Lily the band has been blooming across the musical landscape since 2015- throughout the northeast and beyond. Liz Simmons (guitar & vocals)\, Flynn Cohen (guitar\, mandolin & vocals)\, and Elsie Gawler (fiddle\, banjo\, vocals) blend their considerable individual talents into a stylistic bouquet of energetic fiddle music\, introspective folk\, bluegrass\, and Americana. The trio has deep roots in the fiddle tune and singing traditions of North America and the Anglo-Celtic diaspora. Low Lily’s recordings have received noteworthy attention with two #1 songs on international folk radio\, two Independent Music Award wins. Their original song Hope Lingers On (written by former band member Lissa Schneckenburger)\, has been sung by choirs around the world as an anthem for peace and justice. \n

SUMMARY:Chris Knight at the Spire Center (Plymouth)
DESCRIPTION:With support from Chance Stanley. After 28 years as a recording artist\, singer-songwriter Chris Knight remains boldly empowered to make music that always delivers the unflinching truth. In fact\, the man raised in Slaughters\, Kentucky uses a simple\, direct barometer to regularly check his muse: “If I can’t believe myself\, I won’t sing the song.” \nThat brutally honest\, no-frills philosophy fits his Americana-fueled\, backwoods-grown merger of folk\, country\, and rock. It’s been at the backbone of nine studio albums\, beginning with 1998’s acclaimed self-titled debut and traveling through scorchers such as the one-two punch of 2001’s A Pretty Good Guy and 2003’s The Jealous Kind\, two demo-styled discs (2007’s The Trailer Tapes and 2009’s Trailer II)\, and the recent\, electric guitar-fortified opus\, 2019’s Almost Daylight. \n

SUMMARY:Adam Ezra Group (Plymouth)
DESCRIPTION:We don’t see many artists building the kind of momentum Adam Ezra Group is generating right now. What has grown over more than two decades of relentless grassroots touring has become something far bigger than a typical touring band: a fiercely independent\, fan-powered community that continues to expand one show at a time. Rooms across the country are selling out when Adam Ezra Group comes to town\, with longtime fans regularly traveling across state lines to catch multiple shows\, drawn by the band’s deep sense of community and the promise that no two nights are ever the same. \nThe band never performs from a fixed setlist\, instead shaping each night around the energy in the room. Songs\, stories\, and moments unfold in real time—part concert\, part revival\, and part reminder of what live music can still be at its best. \nBlending folk/Americana soul\, rock ’n’ roll energy\, and deeply human songwriting\, Adam Ezra Group has built one of the most authentic underground followings in live music today while quickly becoming recognized on a national level. As SPIN recently put it\, they are “an independent underground folk band blowing up without selling out\,” a rise that has happened entirely outside the traditional industry system\, powered by word of mouth\, community activism\, and a genuine connection between band and audience that often turns first-time listeners into lifelong fans. \nCatch them now while they’re still playing the kinds of rooms where you can give Adam a hug on your way out.

SUMMARY:Spire Lobby Series: Abbie Gardner (Plymouth)
DESCRIPTION:This series showcases local and regional musicians in a relaxed and intimate setting. The lobby is transformed into a 70-seat showcase lounge! \nAbbie Gardner is a fiery dobro player with an infectious smile. Whether performing solo or with Americana darlings Red Molly\, her tales of love and loss\, both gritty and sweet\, are propelled by her impeccable slide guitar chops. As an award-winning songwriter\, captivating vocalist\, and a world-class lap style dobro player\, she has an unmistakable sound all her own. This is masterfully captured on her 2022 CD “DobroSinger.” The record made it to #11 on the Billboard Blues Charts and #2 on the Folk DJ Charts\, receiving rave reviews in Bluegrass Unlimited\, Acoustic Guitar Magazine and American Songwriter. It’s a raw intimate recording full of blues\, ballads and the ache of the unknown. It’s quite a contrast to her previous CD\, which featured a co-write with Chris Stapleton and leaned on full band production. Abbie stands strong as a solo act and has opened for Lori McKenna and Martina McBride. \nPresented by The Antonia and Vladimir Kulaev Cultural Heritage Fund.

SUMMARY:Patty Larkin and Lucy Kaplansky (Plymouth)
DESCRIPTION:Patty Larkin – PATTY LARKIN is a visionary of sound and wonder\, a real deal version of artistry made of equal parts guitar wizardry\, vocals shot through with soul and inventive lyrics that ripple across the terrain of the heart. Described as “riveting” (Chicago Tribune)\, “hypnotic” (Entertainment Weekly)\, and a “drop-dead brilliant” performer (Performing Songwriter)\, Patty has captured audiences for over 30 years with an imagination\, enchantment\, and technical artistry that has redefined the boundaries of the guitar driven singer songwriter. With eleven studio albums and two live recordings under her belt\, Patty mines the intersections of poetry and song with her innovative 14th release\, Bird in a Cage\, released on her own Road Narrows Records. Bird in a Cage puts poems from ten notable poets to song\, including US Poet Laureates William Carlos Williams\, Stanley Kunitz\, Kay Ryan\, Robert Pinsky and Billy Collins\, for a new and haunting collection that pulses with the magic of lyricism. Poems are made to be shared aloud\, and with Bird\, Patty takes up that tradition and sets it aglow: her extraordinary musical shadings make each poem a star. \nLucy Kaplansky – Lucy Kaplansky is an acclaimed singer songwriter of rare talent\, “a truly gifted performer with a bag full of enchanting songs” (The New Yorker) and “the troubadour laureate of modern city folk” (The Boston Globe). She has released nine critically acclaimed CDs\, two of which were awarded Best Pop Album of the year by the Association for Independent Music. National Public Radio described her 2012 album Reunion as “a master class in making the personal universal\,” and National Public Radio’s Scott Simon called her new album Last Days of Summer\, released in June 2022\, “Absolutely wonderful….utterly beautiful and affecting… Lucy sings songs from her life with resonance in ours.” Lucy was part of folk supergroup Cry Cry Cry with Dar Williams and Richard Shindell (which The New Yorker dubbed “a collection of lovely harmonizing and pure emotion”). Their album was an astonishing success in stores and on radio resulting in a national tour of sold-out concerts\, as well as a national sold-out reunion tour in 2018. Her recording of Roxy Music’s “More than This” has over 12 million streams on Spotify\, and she has been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered\, Weekend Edition\, and Morning Edition as well as BBC Radio 2 and 4\, and CBS Sunday Morning\, and has sung harmony on albums by Suzanne Vega\, Bryan Ferry\, Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin. Her song “Guilty as Sin” was featured in the NBC television show “Ed\,” and her vocals were featured in the Tom Cruise film “The Firm.”

SUMMARY:The Travelin’ McCourys (Plymouth)
DESCRIPTION:The Travelin’ McCourys didn’t begin as an idea. They began as momentum. For Ronnie McCoury (mandolin) and Rob McCoury (banjo)\, bluegrass was never abstract. It was lived. They grew up on the road\, on stage and inside the Del McCoury Band\, learning the music the only way it truly gets learned – by playing it in front of real audiences\, night after night\, with no safety net. \nThey learned discipline first. Then responsibility. Then restraint. For years\, their role was clear: help carry one of the most respected bands in American music forward. Alongside Jason Carter\, Mike Bub and later\, Alan Bartram\, they helped define what the modern Del McCoury Band sounded like. It’s precise\, powerful\, deeply rooted and audience-first. But history doesn’t stand still. And neither did they. By the late 1990s and early 2000s\, bluegrass itself was moving into new rooms. Jam audiences were discovering acoustic music through curiosity rather than tradition. Festivals were changing. Set lengths were expanding. And improvisation was no longer a novelty\, it rather became an expectation. \nRonnie and Rob didn’t stumble into their shift. They watched it happen up close. They saw what occurred when bluegrass met listeners who valued exploration. They saw how extended solos\, unexpected covers and risk-taking created a different kind of electricity. And they began asking a quiet\, necessary question: Where does this music go when the rules loosen? The answer didn’t belong within the Del McCoury Band format. So they didn’t force it there. Instead\, it emerged naturally; after hours\, late at night and eventually on its own terms…
