A Colonial Tavern Evening at the Historic Oliver Estate (Middleborough)

March 14 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

NOTE: This event is Sold Out but a waitlist is available on the Eventbrite link below. The public is invited to step back into the social world of the 18th century for An Evening at the Colonial Tavern, a unique immersive dining experience held inside the Historic Oliver Estate, an original colonial mansion with deep ties to the American Revolution. Based on documented historic accounts of the house, the Oliver Estate once welcomed prominent revolutionary figures, including Benjamin Franklin, who stayed at the property, as well as John and Abigail Adams, who were a frequent visitors. For one evening, the mansion’s rooms will once again echo with conversation, music, food, and laughter — just as they would have during the colonial period.

This event is designed not as a lecture or formal tour, but as a lively social evening, inspired by the tavern culture of colonial New England. Guests will enjoy a four-course colonial-inspired supper, live period music, traditional tavern games, and interactions with enactors who bring the era’s social customs and stories to life.

An Immersive Historic Experience – Throughout the evening, guests are encouraged to explore the mansion’s public rooms, participate in tavern games, enjoy live music, and engage with colonial-era reenactors. The atmosphere is intentionally intimate and candlelit, recreating the feel of an 18th-century tavern gathering rather than a modern catered event.

Parking: Available at the Oliver Estate and in the adjacent conservation lot.

Tickets: $60 per person – (Includes four-course supper, beverage, live music, reenactors, and tavern games). Seating is limited to preserve the historic atmosphere.
