Plimoth Patuxet Museums invites the public to join a special screening event, “An Introduction to ‘The American Revolution by Ken Burns’”, at Plimoth Cinema in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
This engaging program offers audiences a compelling look at the celebrated documentary series by acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns, created in collaboration with Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt. The film offers a dynamic overview of the series, drawing audiences into the story of the Revolution while highlighting the central themes, conflicts, and ideas that continue to shape the United States today.
Following the screening, guests are encouraged to remain for a brief discussion of the film led by Richard Pickering, Deputy Executive Director & Senior Historian, reflecting on the origins of the American Revolution, the diverse perspectives involved, and the enduring questions of liberty, representation, and identity that remain relevant 250 years later.
