Children’s Summer Program: Exploring Plymouth’s History (Plymouth)

July 13 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Through this hands-on, inquiry-based week-long summer program, young history lovers will be introduced to the clothing, food, crafts, and customs of the Wampanoag people, 17th century English colonists, and later Plymouth residents. Ages 8-12.

Participants will play period games and practice traditional crafts including weaving and candle-making. They will also tour all three of the Antiquarian Society’s historic houses. The program will conclude with a research presentation by the participants, who will each receive a membership in the Junior Antiquarian Society to encourage ongoing engagement with the local past.

The camp is based at the 1677 Harlow Old Fort House and led by knowledgeable educators, crafters, and local historians.

Sessions run July 13 – July 17 – 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. daily | $150 per child for non-members, $125 members. Space is limited to 12 boys and girls—register today! Email info@plymouthantiquarian.org or call the PAS office at 508-746-0012 to register. Pre-registration is required by July 9.
