Chromatic Wood Type — Old and New Interactive Discussion at the Museum of Printing

Geri McCormick and James Grieshaber will give an explanation of chromatic wood type and how they have recreated the making process to revive historic chromatic fonts at Virgin Wood Type in Rochester, NY. Their rediscovery of the process has led to an all new design which debuted earlier this year called Marquee.
There will be an informal activity following the talk where attendees will be able to pull a proof of a historic William H. Page chromatic wood type ca. 1849 and the new Marquee font from Virgin Wood Type made just this year.

About the Museum of Printing
