Wampanoag Leaders: 1600s to Today: 11am-12pm – Join Tim Turner (Cherokee Nation), Director of Indigenous Education & Training, as he takes a fascinating look at Indigenous leaders from the 1600s to the present day. This program will explore well-known figures from history including Ousamequin (Massasoit), Tisquantum (Squanto), and Metacomet (King Philip), as well as the current Chairman and Chairwoman of the Herring Pond (Plymouth), Mashpee, and Aquinnah (Martha’s Vineyard) Tribes. Program participants will gain an understanding of each leader’s contributions to the region and to their communities. A Q&A will follow the presentation.
