Named for an ancient Celtic harvest festival, Lúnasa was formed in 1997 from members of some of the greatest Irish groups of the previous decade. From the start, the band’s complex arrangements and unique sound reshaped the boundaries of traditional music and energized audiences the world over. Having since sold over a quarter of a million records and performed over 2,000 shows, Lunasa has won multiple awards and become one of the most influential bands in the history of traditional music. Lúnasa are joined for their 2020-2021 winter season by the award winning Irish singer and bouzouki player Daoirí Farrell, one of the most important folk singers to come out of Ireland in recent years. He has won two prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Traditional Track and his 2019, album ‘A Lifetime Of Happiness’, was nominated for three RTE Folk Awards in Ireland.
