Marquetry Cutting and Assembly Workshop (Brockton)

October 18 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm

From beginners to seasoned pros, all are welcome to learn about marquetry in this hands-on workshop. Marquetry is the art and craft of cutting and applying wood veneer to create a decorative pattern or image.
Students will cut and assemble a marquetry pattern using the double-bevel technique. The recommended design is a lotus flower taken from a 16th century Chinese carving, but students are welcome to execute their own design. Each student will glue their design to a backer veneer to create a finished marquetry panel.
