Every Wednesday in July a movie related to the American Revolution will be screened at the Plymouth Public Library. Celebrate America’s 250th with a Revolutionary War era movie!  Shows every Wednesday of the month of July!

July 1:  JOHNNY TREMAIN – America’s greatest heroes live and fight again in this adventure of our country’s struggle for independence in the 1770’s. The film recreates Paul Revere’s ride, the Boston tea party, and decisive battles at Lexington and Concord. Starring Hal Stalmaster as the young hero.

July 8:  1776 – THE MUSICAL The Award-winning Broadway musical celebration of the founding of the United States comes to the screen! A musical retelling of the American Revolution’s political struggle in the Continental Congress to declare independence.

July 15:  REVOLUTION – The American Revolution is more than a war of Washington and Jefferson. It’s also a struggle of ordinary people, unlettered in combat, politics or government. A trapper and his young son get pulled into the American revolution early as unwilling participants and remain involved through to the end. Starring Al Pacino, Donald Sutherland and Nastassja Kinski.

July 22:  APRIL MORNING – The movie adaptation of Howard Fast’s 1961 novel about a teenage boy’s coming of age on the eve of the American Revolution, when the Colonists made their stand on the Lexington green. Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Chad Lowe.

July 29:  THE PATRIOT – Peaceful farmer, Benjamin Martin, is driven to lead the Colonial Militia during the American Revolution when a sadistic British officer murders his son. Starring Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger.
