The American Big Band Experience (Hingham)

South Shore Conservatory (SSC) invites audiences to step back in time and experience the golden era of swing with Dan Gabel and His Orchestra. Dan Gabel’s authentic 18-piece jazz big band, featuring award-winning vocalist Kimberly Hawkey, brings to life the timeless music of Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Tommy Dorsey.  Step back in time and experience the golden age of swing music.

Appropriate for all ages, enjoy an afternoon of more than just great music.  With a food truck, snacks and beverages, lawn games, and more, families are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, stretch out on the lawn, grab something to eat, and let their kids play, all while enjoying live music from world-class jazz artists. SSC students will be showcased  as well, with a student ensemble opening the show and several students invited on stage to solo alongside the orchestra and perform side-by-side with seasoned professionals.
