Boston Marathon

Run. Cheer. Celebrate.

If you’re running the Boston Marathon or just cheering from the sidelines, you may wonder how you will navigate the throngs of crowds and traffic along the race route. The Commuter Rail offers a special $10 Holiday Weekend Pass with unlimited stops on Saturday, Sunday, and Marathon Monday.

The Boston Marathon is held every Patriot’s Day (celebrated on the third Monday of April) and always attracts a huge crowd in Boston and on the streets along the 26.2-mile route. Spectators and runners alike can enjoy the comfort of train travel during the marathon weekend to enjoy the annual event without worrying about traffic, parking and finding your way in and around the City of Boston.

For the best viewing locations along the route try using the Lansdowne Station for Kenmore Square, the Back Bay Station for the finish line and the Framingham/Worcester Line for Wellesley stops. In fact, if you want to check out multiple spots to watch the marathon, you can use the $10 Holiday Weekend Pass to hop on and off the Framingham/Worcester Line all day.
