“A great way to travel without traffic.” – Commuter Rail Rider

Fenway Park is a great place to catch a Red Sox Game, but it’s also a fun venue for concerts! However, driving to and parking near Fenway can be a hassle, especially when everyone else has the same travel idea. Why not take a break from the traffic and enjoy a stress-free, comfortable ride on the Commuter Rail?

Three Lively Music Venues Around Fenway

Around the Fenway neighborhood, you’ll find three performance venues, perfect for a night on the town.

Fenway Park is the home of the Boston Red Sox and one of the oldest ballparks in Major League Baseball. Every year, the park hosts a variety of concerts for all kinds of music fans. In August 2024, Fenway Park will welcome artists like Def Leppard and Journey, Green Day, Pearl Jam, and Post Malone.

The MGM Music Hall at Fenway is a 5,000-capacity music venue located only 0.1 mile away from Fenway Park. You can catch comedy acts and live music performances at this state-of-the-art, multi-purpose live performance venue.

Down the street from Fenway Park and only a 2-minute walk away is the Citizens House of Blues. This Rock-& Blues-themed venue has concerts, a restaurant and bar, and a special lounge for VIP members.

Lansdowne Station

The Framingham/Worcester Line on the Commuter Rail takes you right to the Lansdowne Commuter Rail Station, which is across the street from Fenway Park. The station is also less than a 10-minute walk from the MGM Music Hall and the Citizens House of Blues. Before heading to your concert, explore the Lansdowne Station area, where the streets are filled with several restaurants and shops.

South Station

If you are coming from South Station, follow the signs for the Red Line. Take the train inbound to Park Street, then jump on the Green Line, taking the B, C, or D train to Kenmore. At Kenmore Station, you can follow signs that will point you toward Fenway Park. And if you ever get lost, just follow the large crowd around you, as Kenmore is the prime station for all Fenway concert-goers.

If you would rather avoid crowded subway trains, you can check the schedule on the Framingham/Worcester Line, and ride approximately 11 minutes from South Station to Lansdowne, which is a little closer to Fenway Park than Kenmore.
