To address our riders’ questions, here is some helpful information on the new Commuter Rail Line’s services, schedules, and fares.

Free Fares at New Stations Weekdays through March and Weekends through April

To celebrate the new Fall River/New Bedford Line, the Commuter Rail will offer both free weekday and weekend service.

Free fares every day will be offered to and from the six new Commuter Rail stations between March 24 and March 31. For every weekend (Saturdays and Sundays) between April 5 to April 27 and on April 21 (Patriots’ Day), the Fall River/New Bedford Line will offer fare-free service. Passengers can ride for free if they board or end their ride at one of the six new stations on the Fall River/New Bedford Line. This offer is valid for on-board purchases. Please speak with the conductor about your origin and destination stations. This offer only applies for those on the Fall River and New Bedford Commuter Rail Lines and does not apply to trains on other Commuter Rail Lines. In April, weekdays operate as regular Commuter Rail fares.

Parking is also free at six of the Fall River/New Bedford Line station lots from March 24 until the end of day on April 30, 2025:

*Note: This free parking promotion might end earlier if Fall River/New Bedford Line parking lots fill up and spaces become unavailable. The standard parking rates for these stations are $4 per day on weekdays and $2 per day on weekends/holidays.
