Guide on How to Get to the World Cup Watch Parties in Boston

The World Cup is coming to Massachusetts in 2026! Even if you didn’t score tickets to the match, you can still join in on the fanfare and rivalry with the World Cup watch parties happening across Boston and surrounding cities. 

We’re heading full steam into summer, and we don’t want the fun to stop. With the Commuter Rail, you can make the most of the season with deals that make it easy to get to watch parties, beach days, and destinations across Massachusetts. 

This summer, Fridays on the Commuter Rail are free, Monthly Pass holders can bring a friend for just $1 on weekends, and $10 Weekend Passes are valid all weekend long (including long weekends), plus even more deals you won’t want to miss.

Starting on June 11th, Chelsea will be hosting a recurring watch party in Chelsea Square. The multi-day event will be jam-packed with activities celebrating the cultures that make Chelsea a vibrant community, featuring local food vendors, live music, and more.

How? Take the Newburyport/Rockport Line to Chelsea Station (1 mi to the watch party) 

Immerse Yourself in Local Theater Nearby 

If you are interested in more entertainment either before or after the Watch Party, Chelsea is the place to be. Performing out of the Historic Chelsea Theatre Works,  Apollinaire Theater Company (427 ft) is an epicenter of arts within downtown Chelsea for their modern takes on classic pieces and their bilingual performances. 

For more live entertainment, head to PORT Park (0.5 mi). Loved by the community for the walking trails, views of the Chelsea Creek, and pop-up events in the park, this is a great spot to check out, especially in the summer. Make sure to check if any concerts or events are happening before you go.

Located in downtown Boston, High Street Place is a lively food hall. Voted the #1 Food Hall by Reader’s Choice in 2026, the venue is home to 20 unique food and beverage vendors. Serving up both fun vibes and a delicious culmination of cuisines, it is a premier spot to catch the World Cup action.

If your match schedule leaves extra time to explore, there is plenty to do just steps from High Street Place. Swap the cheering of fans for the relaxing lapping sounds of the Massachusetts Bay at Long Wharf (0.7 mi). 

Here you can soak in the heat of July by walking along the Harborwalk or booking a sea excursion, like whale watching or Codzilla. If you prefer staying on land, but still are in for mingling with some marine life, visit the New England Aquarium (0.6 mi).

This free, outdoor, and tournament-long celebration, hosted at City Hall Plaza, is guaranteed to be bustling with excitement. From live entertainment to food, drinks, and big-screen match viewing, City Hall’s festivities bring fans together for the ultimate World Cup experience.

How? Take the Commuter Rail into South Station (0.5 mi to the watch party) or take the Red Line from South Station to Downtown Crossing (0.2 mi to the watch party).

Ride into North Station: Take the Orange Line to State Street Station (about a 46 ft) or the Green Line to Government Center Station (also about a 46 ft).

Experience Iconic Boston Spots While You’re There 

City Hall Plaza is located in the center of Boston, making it an activity-filled location beyond the Fan Festival. To escape the New England heat, head to the iconic Boston Public Market (0.4 mi) and explore the lively indoor marketplace with vendors spanning from tasty treats to permanent jewellery.

For a little outdoor whimsy and niche Boston lore, visit the Cop Slide (0.2 mi). Since going viral in 2023, this slide has become a well-loved and must-visit spot amongst Bostonians. For those unfamiliar with this trending pop-culture moment, this slide has a reputation for being a bit more thrilling than your typical playground slide. Test it at your own discretion, or swing by to watch the fun unfold as others try it out. For a more calming nature experience, head to the Boston Common (0.3) for a walk, some people watching, and street performances in the country’s oldest public park.

Scotland House Parties at The Anchor 

The Scotland National Team is taking over the Anchor in Charlestown for two days in June. Stop by to watch soccer, mingle with famous faces, eat delicious food, and listen to live music. While there are two main watch parties, this is the official home base for fans of Team Scotland, and fans are encouraged to stop by on June 13 and 19 to meet up, celebrate, and have fun.

If you are interested in exploring Charlestown before or after the whistle blows, considering this is the oldest neighborhood in Boston, there is plenty to explore. Visit the Bunker Hill Monument (0.8 mi), the Bunker Hill Museum (0.6 mi), and purchase tickets for a tour of the USS Constitution (0.3 mi).

If you’ve ever been to Fenway Park, you’ve likely been to or have seen The Lansdowne. While the Irish Pub is usually packed with Red Sox Fans, in June, it will become a hotspot for World Cup and soccer fans.

Step Into the Sports Action Happening Nearby 

If you want to keep the tone of your day rooted in sports, swap your jersey and get ready to root for the home team at Fenway Park (0.1mi). Several of the Watch Party games line up with home games, keeping the fan energy in sync from kickoff to first pitch. 

When you are tapped out and tired of cheering, but want to keep the competition alive, head right next door from Lansdowne to Cheeky Monkey (112 ft). This multi-level bar has pool tables on the ground floor, but as you climb the stairs, you step into Lucky Strike, a lively bowling alley and arcade.

Watch Party for Scotland vs Morocco at Pennyweigh Hotel 

Hosted by the West End Museum, this watch party for the third match at Boston Stadium will be held at the Pennyweigh Hotel bar. Settle in for drinks, snacks, and camaraderie! During the breaks, enjoy fun sports trivia and anecdotes hosted by Kathryn Harris, founder of Boston Sports Tours.

Before you start your night of cheering and sporting events, take the afternoon to explore Boston’s West End Neighborhood. Kickstart the day at Beacon Hill Books and Cafe (0.9 mi). This multi-level bookstore has more than meets the eye, from its curated collection of authors to the charming cafe tucked under the shop, leaving plenty to explore. 

Another gem in the area is the West End Museum. Take a guided tour or roam around the rotation of exhibits that tell the story of Boston’s West End. 

Watch Parties in Revere & Cambridge 

Did you know that Revere and Cambridge are also hosting Watch Parties across their cities? Here’s some key information on how to celebrate around the areas! 

Revere

Watch parties are happening across Revere. To be part of the action, take the Blue Line to the Wonderland or Revere Beach Station. From there, you will likely need a rideshare to get to the locations across the city. Round out your time in Revere with a visit to the beach and a stop at Kelly’s Roast Beef for a quintessential North Shore day.

Cambridge

Between Inman, Kendall, Harvard, and Central Square, watch parties are happening across Cambridge. You can take the Fitchburg Line to Porter Station, but you will need to take a rideshare to get to the watch parties. As you travel through Cambridge, take in all of the local coffee shops, visit the beloved Harvard Book Store, or even rent a blue bike and ride down the Charles Esplanade.
