
Newburyport Art (NAA) is proud to announce three new exhibits and two fundraisers in the month of July!
On view in the first-floor Sargent Gallery is Framed/Unframed: A Photo-Focused Show, featuring over 60 art pieces that engage with photographic thinking, image-making, and compositional choices. This show is from Wednesday, July 1st through Saturday, July 18th.
In the Hills Gallery, the Photography Interest Group (PhIG) 2026 Summer Show, features the artwork from twenty-two PhIG members. This exhibition is displayed from Wednesday, July 1st through Sunday, July 26th. Subject matter includes street photography, landscapes, buildings, florals, portraits, cities and nature. There are also unframed bin work pieces for sale.
An opening reception for both shows is Friday, July 3rd from 5-7pm and free to the public.
In collaboration with The Screening Room of Newburyport, there will be a screening presentation of the documentary, UNDERLAND on Monday, July 6th at 7pm. Newburyport Art is co-hosting the event, accompanied by live readings from Paul Wann, Jonathan Sherwood, & NAA Executive Director, Belle Struck. The tickets can be purchased online at www.newburyportmovies.com/starting-friday with a portion of each ticket going to support the Newburyport Art Association.
To close out the month of July, Newburyport Art will be exhibiting; Coming Home: A Celebration of Creative Roots, a multi-disciplinary exhibit that highlights Newburyport creatives who grew up in the community with creatives who began their adult creative practice in Newburyport to share how Newburyport informed their artistic practice. This exhibition features a free opening reception on Sunday, July 26th from 4:00-6:00pm, as well as a ticketed panel discussion moderated by local storyteller, actor and educator Paul Wann on Monday, July 27th from 6:00-8:00pm.
