Skip the Traffic with the Commuter Rail

As the largest stadium in New England, Gillette Stadium hosts major sporting events and concerts year-round. Located in Foxboro, MA, Gillette Stadium is 29 mi from downtown Boston and 25 miles from downtown Providence. The next time you’re heading to an event, skip the traffic and take the Commuter Rail for a more convenient trip to the stadium. 

How to Buy an Event Train Ticket to Gillette Stadium 

Event train tickets offer round-trip service to Gillette Stadium for your sporting event or concert. Gillette Stadium Event Train Tickets are limited and only available through the mTicket app. Be sure to check the schedule, as tickets go on sale at varying times depending on your event.

Please note that regular Commuter Rail passes are not valid; a specific event train ticket is required.

Activating Your Event Train Ticket 

When you purchase your round-trip ticket, you will receive two ticket activations in the mTicket app. Make sure to activate your ticket just before boarding the train to Gillette Stadium on the day of the event, and then again just before boarding the train after your event. 

Event Train Service & Scheduling  

Event trains are scheduled based on the start and end times of the event at Gillette. Typically, trains will arrive an hour before the event and depart Foxboro Station about 30 minutes after it ends. For more information on the train service for your event, check out the event guide.  

Boston Service 

Event trains to Gillette Stadium provide round-trip service between South Station and Foxboro Station. For most major events, trains will make stops at Back Bay and Dedham Corporate Center. For high-demand events, trains might run direct service from South Station to Foxboro, so be sure to check the event train service schedule. 

Providence Service 

Event trains to Gillette Stadium provide round-trip service between Providence Station and Foxboro Station. For most major events, trains will make stops at Pawtucket/Central Falls, Attleboro, and Mansfield. Event trains from Providence are typically offered for regular-season Patriots games and concerts. Other events’ service is not always guaranteed. 

Event Train Rules: Prohibited Items, Bag Policy & More

The Commuter Rail follows the same prohibited item policy as Gillette Stadium. Additionally, bags brought on board must comply with the stadium’s Clear Bag Policy and bag sizing requirements. Please note that any personal items left on the trains will be discarded.

Regular Season Patriots Games

Trains are scheduled for every Patriots game played at Gillette Stadium. There will be trains from South Station in Boston and one train from Providence, RI. Check the Foxboro schedule for live departure times on the day of the game. After the game, trains depart Foxboro 30 minutes after the game ends.

Boston Legacy FC Games

Round-trip event train tickets are available for select Boston Legacy FC home games, running from South Station to Gillette Stadium.

New England Revolution Games

Round-trip event train tickets are available for New England Revolution home games, running from South Station to Gillette Stadium.

Concerts 

Concert with multiple dates

All tickets for the artist go on sale at 11 AM, two weeks before the first concert. For example, an artist performing at Gillette on Thursday and Friday night, the tickets for both concerts will go on sale two weeks before the Thursday concert.

Weekend concert

Tickets go on sale at 11 AM on the Friday before the weekend, two weeks before the concert.  For example, an artist is performing at Gillette on Sunday, November 17. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, November 1, the Friday two weeks before the concert.

Concert with a single date

Tickets go on sale at 11 AM two weeks before the concert.
