Fairmount Line

CITY TRAVEL, LESS HASSLE
Service on the Fairmount Line will be reduced between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on weekdays and weekends through the Fall to allow for necessary rail replacement work. This work is a key step in preparing the line for future battery electric train service. Click here to learn more.
Take a break from traffic on the Route 93 Southeast Expressway and main thoroughfares like Blue Hill Avenue–the Commuter Rail is a relaxing, affordable way to travel locally. For less than a tank of gas, ride the Commuter Rail to get to where you want to go. It’s the easiest way to travel into Boston or meet up with family and friends outside the city. Remember kids 11 and under always ride for free.
