Special Service

Boston and surrounding communities hold many special events throughout the year at venues along the Commuter Rail service area. Massachusetts is also home to Wachusett Mountain and Cape Cod, drawing busy crowds. Rather than spending your time stuck in traffic, take the train right to the action.

The Commuter Rail offers special service for events and attractions like Salem Haunted Happenings, ski trains to Wachusett Mountain, trains to the Cape, Boston Marathon, and other holiday events. Special service trains are also offered for all Patriots’ home games and select concerts at Gillette Stadium which depart from South Station and Providence.

Additional Special Service Trains may be added throughout the year for special events such as March Madness, playoff games, and other Boston-area events. Stay tuned through the Commuter Rail’s social media channels for additional Special Service Trains, schedules, and if a special event train ticket is required.
